ARE YOU KIDS REALLY NEEDY RIGHT NOW? MINE TOO.
So, you're stuck inside with the kiddos, huh?
It's a lot and I find I'm vacillating between "Let's bond as a family!" and "A WOMAN CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH." You feeling the same? 😂
What I do know though, from years of nannying, teaching, and parenting, is that when kids are all up in our grille and won't leave us alone, it's because they're looking for connection.
And, with so much together time, that need for connection seems to be happening a lot, shall we say?
So, I've put together 25 ideas for connecting with your kids that are completely free and need nothing (no props, toys, nada). They all take less than 5 minutes each and while they're geared towards younger kids, my 8-year old is still into almost all of them.
None of them is rocket science, but then most of parenting really isn't, is it?
Think of them as a quick bonding exercise to settle everyone down, re-connect, and buy you some much-needed space.
HALLELUJAH!

My kids tend to get squirrely around 3pm when we've exhausted worksheets, taking a walk, Legos, puzzles, baking, you know, everything we used to use over the course of a month. 😂
For me, it's a little too early to start a movie, but we also need a serious break.
So, we have a snack and then I pick an activity from the list, all of which are high intensity, full of laugter, and leave them feeling very connected to me.
Then I can tell them it's time to play ALONE. 😬Weirdly, it works. Sometimes for an hour, sometimes for ten minutes, but it gives me a little extra space to breathe.
